should be 1/2" 12pt...i'd get a deep socket. metric 13mm 12pt works too i think, but it's standard.

i'm sure i just checked a gsr arp nut and it's 1/2" or 13mm (edited). not 14mm.
it sucks removing it with just hand tools. i didnt have a pipe, so i used a 1" wrench as an extension on my 3/8 craftsman ratchet. it was a hell of a effort. i almost gave up. air tools are the best!

Dude the nut on the headstud is a 13mm spline socket. You do not want to screw those thigs up and make sure that you don't loose your washers that go with them.
You will need to get the 13mm deep socket

Hmm, when I had them, only a 1/2" worked. None of my metric ones worked well, they were a little loose. I wasn't about to torque head bolts/studs with a socket that was slightly loose.

What is a spline socket? My regular 13mm deep didn't work. Neither did any other metric one I had. I had to go to Sears to buy a single 1/2" deep. (Pretty much the only one that didn't come with my tool set

vtec94 you might be right the in my b-series it is a 13mm 12pt. so it might be a little smaller for the d-series. I think a 12 is pretty close to a half.
a spline socket is the one with all the different points on the inside.

Your mom is fat.
Edit:to politely answer all of your questions-
1. Yes I am taking them out. (not really an answer, more of a clarification.)
2.I posted it here because I'm taking them out of my ITR, and sometimes the smart people here have answers.
3. I only have 6pt sockets, you'll have to do the rest of the thinking on that one.
4.I didn't know what size they were, because I didn't install them. Also, I hardly ever post usless threads. Try searching the archives under my username.
5.Your mom is still fat.

Well, there seem to be many responses in this thread.
Personally, I have worked with them AND had them in my own car. They were a 1/2" size. A 12 and 13mm did NOT work. The 12 didn't fit at all, the 13 went around the bolt, but was loose. I'm sure you don't want to be messing with headbolts/studs and loose sockets. That's the last bolt I want to be stripping.
