SOHC VTEC ALL MOTOR GUYS, can i use a d16z6 cam on a d16y8??

like the topic said, i want to buy a cam for my d16y8(96-98ex) and found one that is for a d16z6. its a ZEX cam stg2 let me know asap.

yes, but you need an adj cam gear. Check out d-series.org. lots of info about this question there.

the y8 and z6 cam gears are a half tooth off

If you use the Z6 cam, with a Y8 cam gear. And put this combo in a Y8 head, you don't have to retard the timing or advance the timing. it will be right.

is that true?? or will i still need a adj. cam gear and advance/retard 4.5 degree??

let me know. some guy just send me that info. yes or no?
