96-98 ex sohc vtec..... can i used a aftermarket cam that was d16z6 on D16y8?
like the topic said, i want to buy a cam for my d16y8(96-98ex) and found one that is for a d16z6. its a ZEX cam stg2 let me know asap.

Should fit. Weither its recommended for the y8 valvetrain i dont know.

It works. You just need an adjustable cam gear for the timing. I can't remember if it's advanced or retarded 5*, but it works. I used to use a S2 S1 Z6 cam in my Y8 with a S2 cam gear. Dyno tuned with a V-AFC and worked fine but sold both to axhandler on here. I believe he used them in his Y8, too.

im not exactly positive... but the y8 cam has the keyway offset... ie... its not pointing up tdc with the head when the cam is tdc.. thats why the z6 and y8 camgears are different...
but i dont know if it will fit in with the y8 valvetrain
