Default Type R compared to GS-R? Help please

I'm curious. I juat baught a type R that is being shipped to me from texas. Its been my dream car for years but never got to ride in one. I owned a 2001 Integra Gsr and liked it but like my friends 2000 civic si better. What I want to no is what does it feel like at vtec crossover in the type R compared to the gsr and si. Does it pull alot harder and kick in faster? Is it louder? Im talking with an intake only or stock comparisons. Thanks

Being that I've had both there is no compairison. It's like night and day. the R is much crisper in corners, much more raw feeling, faster, vtec "kicks" in harder and it's much more of a theft magnet.

In short yes. You sound like you need to do a lot of reading up on these things. I would go through the FAQ's and read as many posts as possible. I think I read on the site for about 6 months before I signed up as a user. I'm not trying to be a dick but the only way to learn is to put yourself forward and do it. Good luck with the new car and please keep it safe.

I no lots about both cars and all the specs down to the tee. I just worded it wronf I guess. I basically just want to no the difference in feeling between the cars since I have never ridden in a Type R. I no they are way better but how much of a difference is there basically when vtec engages. I hate the dual stage manifold of the GS-R. The Si's motor seems better to me. I like the fact that the Type R has a single stage manifold. Jst want to experience comparisons. Thanks

If you liked the fat pig (Si) you'll love the R.

Stock for stock, there's a big difference.

...but I don't buy a car to drive it "as is" from the factory...

yah..i also have driving both My Type R and a SI. And yah..there both two way different cars...I do love the way the SI's Vtec sounds..It really high pitch and loud. and a type R's Vtec is more of a deaper sound. Yes the Type R handle's very well and takes corners nice and is faster. no doubt..but there both two great cars.

Like people said before..Learn more about the car before buying it..

I've had the opportunity to drive an Si, which was my first love, an R, the second love, but she wasn't in the best condition, and now a GSR. The Si seemed like a high school car to me, seats weren't very comfortable, not as good of quality as Integras. The R was raw and big fun. The GSR compared to the Si is a nice car to cruise in. Comfortable leather, good ride (stock). Sound system could use a little help though, never bothered me in the R though.

For the record, My Si had intake, exhaust, suspension and 17" Volks, rough ride, loud. The R was stock but much for focused and handled better than the Si with suspension. The GSR is stock except for intake and will probably remain so.

When i bought my car, i got to drive it around a townhouse block @ 5mph...:\ (No insurance, plated and lived DOWNTOWN Jungle of TORONTO!!! Arghh)

Luckily i was with my Uncle, hes 6'3 260lbs...
I simply told the dude, "I love the car, looks great, mint condition.. but you SURE and GUARENTEE when i hand the cash over it runs PERFECTLY GOOD?, because i don't **** around, so don't **** aruodn with me.." -in a jokingly manner of course.. -he replied, "YES yes, dont worry!"

Next day, gave him 19gs in cash and drove away.. thing ran better then my 02 RSX-S!

Its a 50/50 situation i guess.. i took my chances, and so did he..

Well, I love my SI (well, right now I "hate it"), but YAH. I have full GSR leather in there. I think it's comfy. I'm trying to get away from that. I like that raw ride. Owning an R is a constant headache.

I hope you are prepared.
