Default code for a check engine light

i've pulled codes before on previously owned hondas, so im not a complete dumbass, but i recently purchased a 1989 crx dx. It has the stock d15b2 in it. but after about 6-7 minutes of driving, the check engine light comes on. Then i went to find the service connector to stick a jumper wire in it, and when i did, i turned the key to the last position, but no cel blinks. So my question is, is there a special way your supposed to pull the code on crx's or are all hondas the same?

The "CEL blinks" you are looking for is a red LED on the actual ecu. If you pull up the passenger side footwell carpet you'll see a gold plate with a hole in it. The blinking LED should be visible through the hole. And there is no jumper plug required to read it.

on a DX with DX ECU there are no long flashes - all just short

Yep, just like the light in the dash otherwise would.

thanks guyz! i fugured out that it was a code 1 and 16 for a stock obd0 crx dx with a d15b2. it shows to be a faulty "primary" o2 sensor and a faulty fuel injection system. these motors run on only two fuel injectors, so it shouldn't be hard to fix. I want to keep this dpfi system for the meantime due to expensive gas prices. where should i start about fixing my problem?
