ls/vtec shifting points?
your best bet would be to dyno it, and see where peak power is. personally, i shift a little past peak power (300-500 rpm's). there is no point to revving an engine higher if its dropping power.
I shift around 7 500 to 8 000 rpm (however got a 9 000 cut-off point) on the race track (Based on my dyno sheet). My motor is still in one piece.

it doesnt matter where your power goes to with stock ls rod bolts... i wouldnt go past 7.5 and i wouldnt rev to 7.5 everyday ... that's just me i've seen b20 and stock bottom end ls vtec go to hell from high revs ...
my buddy has a stock ls/v- and at the moment its going tru hell and its on it way back .
he’s bin having it for about 2 years now and
also just added a lil 55 shot 3 weeks ago and
revving it up between 8k and 82k no problem (I guess?)
