Default Considering trading my built turbo civic for a type-r - Is it worth it?

The car id be trading for is a 98 itr with 52k and a clean title. the motor was replaced with a jdm itr motor bc the original owner blew up the orig motor. its champ white with white wheels. car has a couple minor cosmetic flaws like chips in the paint and the front bumper is frost white, needs to be painted. car is stock besides a spoon drop in filter, carbon fiber hood, and RSR catback.

my car is a civic 4dr with fully built turbo gsr tuned aem ems... makes 440whp on pump gas. could run mid/low 11. car is clean too many extra's to list - everything is done right no expenses spared.

The two cars are the two different spectrums of honda's... this is probably a rare chance to get back close to what I have into this car but im having second thoughts about getting an ITR because im afriad it might get stolen... give me some advice

if you like to do alot of drag racing at the track
keep your civic

if you plan to drive in search for twisties get the Type R

I just read the topic title and my answer is yes. No need to read the details.

Well, you obviously know that there are serious issues of theft problems with ITR's otherwise you wouldnt have mentioned it. Your statement is only going to make you not want an ITR.

i think i would worry more about the civic being stolen than the itr, you will get your money back on the ITR, not on the civic

keep the civic. i don't trust how the car has been taken care of. If the kid before blew up the motor, god knows what else is wrong with it, aside from the ABS light and SRS light being on.....

also get a carfax, the fact that it was hit in the back and everything LOOKS like it lines up doesn't mean everything is perfectly fine....

Keep the civic, the ITR is just a glorified civic anyways.

tough call...

i almost traded my R for an 00 civic SI turbo (fully built 2.0L) that made 540whp. before we could trade, he sold the turbo setup off it. so it never happened. i kept the R.....and i recommend picking one up to anyone that wants one. you just have to accept that one day, someone WILL try to steal it.
