Heater Problem.....
90 CRX si
ok, my car does not blow hot air. when i move the heater ****, it does turn the control valve in the engine compartment. should i remove the whole control valve, and just bypass it?
or could my heater core itself be clogged? and what is the easiest way to get at the heater core? and could i just "flush" out my heater core with a garden hose? cuz my fans work fine, my A/C is not cold, so i assume that it's just out of charge.. but it never blows hot air..
please help. it's slowly getting cold outside in the morning.
-thx

What happens is the thing that holds the cable slips over time.
Follow the cable down to were it goes onto the slider on the box (under the pass side kinda down behind the radio).
Now while your down there turn it to cold and then hot. See which way it pushes the slider when it is going hot. I think it is towards the firewall. Turn it all the way to hot and when the slider stops moving, push it the rest of the way by hand. What happens is the thing holding the cable slip and the cable does not push it all the way open. So yes it will be moving but it won't be going far enough.
I have used this to fix eg's, ef's, da's and dc's
