Default Popping sound coming from driver side front ???

after i have been driving my car for awhile when i am slowing down to turn or pull in the garage etc etc. i have noticed an odd clunking sound. it will not do it if i put it on the jack and spin the wheels even if it is in gear. i reached under my car and messed with the driver side axle and can get enough movement out of it from side to side to get an audible from the brake hub but it sounds nothing like the sound i am getting. Any thoughts?

take a look at your driver side motor mount, it probably tore.. that's what happened to mine and now I got to replace my old two bolt motor mount w/ the bling bling three bolt, I need to find a way to take my crank pulley out ahaha.

it isn't a motor mount or axle i have replaced both axles thinking they were the problem. i brought a mechanic over today from a local shop and he thinks that acura lied when they sold me there tranny fluid when i asked for the same fluid that goes in a type r because i have a type r diff. so i am going to buy some gm sychro mesh and see if that fixes the problem.

All Honda/Acura from the dealer all use Honda MTF I dont know why you think the type R is different.

gee maybe because the type-r has LSD. if you knew anything you would know that a lsd requires a additive. don't flame if you don't know what you are talking about

Your the one asking the question and created the topic.. did you get underneath the car while it was running? See if the sound is even coming from the tranny?

Oh yea and btw, your in knoxville? me too.. hit me up sometime i might be able to come and take a look at it.. do you go to the local car spots, etc?

if he is going to be smart to me i am going to tell him he's wrong. do you home work before you answer a question wrong and make your self out to be a dick.

i got underneath the car everyday after i drove it to try to get it to duplicate the sound. i think it has to be under a load for it to do it. i took dave from OTT out in it yesterday to see what he thought and he is pretty sure the sound is my diff too.

i used to go to Kar Kare but i have been so caught up this year with my car and a couple others that i haven't even had a chance. I actually live in Maryville but no-one knows where that is and i used to live in knoxville so i never changed it on my avator. I might make an appearacne at Kar Kare this week just to get caught up with everybody. if i go ill be in a yellow ITR with a jdm front end, its my friend that stays with me most of the time

Honda MTF has additives in it and Honda determined it to be suitable for the ITR transmission. But don't take my word for it. Read the 1998 Integra Helms Service Manual which includes the Type R and see for yourself.
