IF you have jdm plastic headlights, try this...

YOu might need to do a few rounds, like 800 grit sandpaper-1000-1500-1800-2000-rubbing compound-plastic polish.
I did this on some courtesy lights (the ones in doors) and that cleaned them up real nice.

They come out fine.

I wet-snaded mine. Mine had a UV coating on them, and it was kinda chipping off. I started with 220 grit, and did just enough to get through that layer, then went to 400, then 800 twice, and finally 1000. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to use 2000, or something higher than 1000 before moving on. After the sanding, I moved to rubbing combound. I did that 2-3 times til I didn't see any scratches from the paper (the rubbing compound will leave fine scratches) Then polishing compound twice, and wax. For wax I chose a carnuba wax to go on first, then a synthetic. It seems as if you use both types of wax (on lights or the paint of your car) you get the best of both worlds.... deep relfection, and a nice long shine. (remember to do carnuba first, then synthetic, cause carnuba won't stick to synthetic)
epattonm's way is definitely the proper way to prep any surface for that matter, but takes a long time. people on team-integra.net suggest using "nu-finish" from pep boys. its like a steel wool mesh thing dipped in polishers. the easiest and laziest way, would be to just get some white polish for 2-3bucks at pep boys and start rubbing. it will definitely not be as good as epattonm's way but it will help a lot. i plan to do it the long way eventually..
