Where should I buy my tires?
Where should I buy my tires? The tread on my current tires are getting pretty low and I need to get new ones. I'm not looking for anything special, not planning on getting rims yet. So basically I'm just looking for tires to ride around in during the winter and stuff. Any suggestions on where I should buy them? Tirerack.com seems to have a good selection, any thoughts on them? I have a 96 Honda Civic EX Coupe.
Just go to some small tire shop. America's tire charge you like 5 fees + tire + tax
So I go to Joe's tire, and he charges me the catalog price + $1 for tire disposal (old one)
eg: America's tire charged me $131 (still have receipt) for 2-13" tires for my old EF. Joe's charged me $122 for 2 195-50-15" Falken Ziex's... Know what i mean?

support you local little guys. They are the ones that you are going to go to when you get a flat anyways, so buy from them. At my shop we include free flat repairs if you buy four tires.
I bought my tires from tirerack.com.
I bought four Kumho ESCTA Supra 712 205/50/VR15 @ $59.00 each.
I shopped around and found out that this was the cheapest reputable place.
Good customer service and fast shipping.
I picked the UPS ground method and my tires came in 2 days.

I got some BFGoodrich G-force TDA tires that cost like $150 or more for 17s for $70 at NTB. If you have one around were you live at go there. Thay will beat any price you can find. Even online. They also offer the best road hazard. It even covers if your tires get slashed. It is for the life of the tire. I would go there. They got me an alignment for half price with my purchase of 4 tires. They will hook you up.
This might be a dumb question, but in the event that I go with tirerack, can I go to their store and get the tires put on? Or do they only deliver? (Trying to avoid the shipping fee.) Also, will they do the balancing and stuff?
I don't think tirerack has a store that you can walk into. Shipping was only $35.58 for me, so i doesn't really cost a lot.
You should use their recommended installer search. Maybe those places sell the tires you want @ tirerack prices. Or ask if they can price match.

havent really had much trouble with discount. except for when they put a nice dent in my classic stang when the jack handle. i watched him do it. he got fired. and when getting a flat fixed, they mounted my directional tire on backwards.... so i suggest watching... just to make sure. but havent had any severe problems with discount, and the prices keep me going back.
that is when i dont go to my own tire guy.
