Audio & Charging problem. PLEASE help
Hey guys... here is the thing... I just got my sound system installed, it is 4 new speakers & 10inch sub with 2 amps, one 4 channel & one mono for the sub. Now here is the thing...
When there is allot of bass and im at idle the bass after say 30 seconds shuts off so the amp is most likely not getting enogh voltage. Above 1.5k rpm I don't get that problem. ALSO because of that issue if I dont shut off my system say 5 minutes prior to me tuning the car off next time I need to start the car, the battery won't have enogh juice to fire it up. Now some one told me that my pulleys are causing that, but thats just ridiculous, I don't have some crazy 4000watts sound system, yah know? Will just a new Yellow Top battery solve my problem, or what can/needs to be done. Thank you so much for your help guys!

The pulleys wont cause it. My friend had the same problem. His amps shut off when he would be driving or idle. His gain was to high on one and not enough power went into them so both amps shut down. What he did was put a 30 amp fuse in the fuse holder and 30 amp fuse's in the dist. block. He also dropped the gain alittle and work around with the xover. So try that he paid 15 dollars for the fuse's.
If not test your battery and alternator.

Either your alternator is dying or you battery is toast. Any easy way to check your alternator is to start the car and turn on you headlights. Then remove the positive cable if the car dies your alternator is toast. If it stays running then it's probably your battery. How old is the battery?

Did he have the same prob?</TD></TR></TABLE> I have to agree with nsxxtreme, do the alt. check it's easy to do, or go to any batt./alt. shop and have them do a load and grav. check most if not all will do it for free, and it will tell you what the output of the alt. is and if there is a problem with the batt.
