Default Mufflers?

I have a 98 coupe and its got an obx catback on right now, sounds great but the loudness is gettin old, so my question today is, are there any mufflers i could just get welded on inplace of the one i have right now, that would be quite, but still give me performance?

If you have the money, get another resonator welded in the ''obx catback'' i put that in quotes because obx is known to be absolute ****.

I'd save money and invest in a nice stainless steel exhaust.. Like: apexi worldsport, dc sports, apexi n1, rs-r, etc..

how big is the obx resonator?
a dynomax super turbo is the way to go (best for anyone looking for quiet)
You cant go wrong with their price either!

Weld an OBX twin loop on that and keep it OBX. Twin loops are quiter than most mufflers

Um.. YES OBX is complete **** in my opinion.. I seen 30+ Threads about there shitting rusting out, welds breaking.. And still my opinion OBX is complete ****.. We'll see how your exhaust is in 2-3 years.. Gurantee my apexi n1 will still be intact and sound the same.

haha well for what you paid i can replace mine many times....and i guess we will see but im someone may be mad because they paid a lot for their exhaust and someone else paid next to nothing....and i bet that they would sound pretty darn similar

Get yourself a Magnaflow universal oval stainless steel muffler. Nice quiet tone, but when you get on it it sounds great. I personally have that exhaust with a carsound catalytic converter and 2.25'' piping and it sounds and looks great

Oh yeah I forgot, the muffler looks very similar to stock so its great if you don't want to attract too much attention from the cops.

no not exactly i vouch for obx. I personally had a obx muffler adn it never rusted and i had it for two years until scraped the **** out of it. I also bought a obx header and used to top it off never rusted bro.

the world sports or street performance are great but slightly pricey, or just get a a flowmaster or borla universal muffler if you want stock looks with gains.
