Water leak from under driver side dash?
Hey guys, new to your forum. I am normaly found on a Jeep forum but I now have an 89 Civic DX 4 door for a daily driver, and I think this is the right section to post in. But I am sure you will let me know.
So during a good rain I get water dripping onto my leg from under the drivers side dash. By chance is this a common thing with the Civic? I figure rather than tear the dash apart, I would get an idea of where to start looking first if you knew. My best guess is it would be originating somewhere at the bottom of the windshield??
Thanks

i had this problem but on the passenger side i couldt figure it out finally i just had the whole window replaced that fixed it! god luck i know there are some seals under your dash that you might be able to locate from your engine bay good luck
Sounds like it could be your winshield leaking. For what it is worth, winsheild sealent is cheap and it flows into the gasket. If nothing else is obvious try that first..
I think this is somewhat common. I've seen a few of them do it. There was no sign that it was the windshield on my GirlFriend's car. It appeared to be coming from lower than that (somewhere in the cowell opening).
If you have some time on your hands, you can try putting some baby powerer all over up in there and then seeing where it has been washed away in the rain. You can just lightly dust everything by squeezing the bottle and having it spray out on to the metal.
We never figured hers out, and it finally just quit after three years of consistantly doing it? I don't know if maybe something was clogged.
