Stock D15 9000rpm redline vavletrain in Y8?
I was reading somthing the other day and I read that some JDM D15's came with a 9000rpm redline, is this true and what motor is this exactly? also would the whole valvetrain transfer over to a d16y8 head and be able to have that redline?
No.
And there's more to the engine than just the valvetrain. The D16Z6 bottom end is good to 7200 rpm, and the D16Y8 is similiar in nature, but a bit weaker.

A D would fall apart WAY before 9K stock.

lol you wouldnt make any power probably after 7000. my friend has a fully built y8 turbo motor with a zex 59300 cam and the redline is set at around 8000.
my d16z6 held for about 6,000 miles of abuse of 7800-8000rpm shifts before it spun 2 rod bearings on nitrous.
but no there is no stock d15 i have seen that has a 9000rpm stock redline.

ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. what would you say a a6 bored 20 thousenths with a y8 head, pm7 pistons and rods, stock a6 crank, and aftermarket (I'm thinking ZEX) cam, rev too?
Edit; this may be alittle off subject but is 11.1:1 cr to high for wet 100 shot of nitrous, if not what about 12.5:1?

to answer the nitrous question its all about your tune....and if you plan to do it with the pm7 pistons i say no because the ringlands will prolly go, get some JE's if you want to that.
My old setup was D16z6, milled head-10:1 compression/i/h/e/ zex stag2 cam and it pulled to about 7400-7500, it was decent in my crx pulled 14.15.
if i were to do it again though i'd think id go with a crower cam because i wasnt impressed much with the cam. also if your gonna use a y8 head, i'd reccomend porting it if you want to make some high rpm power.
