Honda Engine Swap
I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX....I recently swapped it for what I believe is a 1991 Honda Accord EX motor....Since the swap it runs smooth but pops off codes left and right....I have looked under my dash and my ECU is short and black....The one the junkyard supplied me with to place in my car was big and silver....Im getting EGR codes and even after removing battery cables I still get the same codes....Someone please tell me how to put this other ECU in my vehicle or will it even make a difference.....The mechanic said he used my throttlebody from the LX in the swap....The exhaust hookup was different too....He had to use mine.....Will changing this ECU solve my code problem and help my performance or decrease....He also suggested I put the exhaust on that came with the EX motor which is headers....Please help....

look at the engine code on the block. yours was f22a1. this one, if from an ex should be f22a6. if its an f22a6 you need to swap the ecu because it has a different intake manifold. the ex and lx motors had different headers too. that shouldn't really make a difference.
just change the ecu.
just change the ecu.
