They just updated the bike for '05, so my guess would be nothing major.

They blacked out the frame and wheels and gave it a little windscreen which doesn't look entirely useful.

The SV is one bike you would probably be better off with a used example of. There are sooo many out there that got sold with low miles on them (like mine) that buying a new one would be a financial disaster comparitively.

You said what I was thinking.

Buying new vehicles, of any sort, is pretty stupid financially.

I told him he can buy it from me in the spring. I need to wait until the '05 SV1KS hits the gently used market.

I love my bike and know I don't need a liter bike but I want a bit better suspension and a less beasty/more sexy bike....oh and I want to stay with a twin.

If you are going for more sexy why get a bike that pretty much looks exactly the same? Why not just pick up a 00-02 Gixxer 750 shock and have the forks revalved?

Because he rode my bike and is ready for a bit more power.

An all-black (including frame) with full fairings looks dramatically different than mine.

I am not modding any bike that I own other than maybe a few cosmetic changes and a pipe. I learned a very important lesson when I messed up my M by doing "fullproof" modifications that ended up being problematic in the end.

The power isn't an issue, my bike is plenty fast. If I could buy an all black 650 with a better OEM shock I would.

Bah, toss the lowers on yours and bust out the Krylon

And the gixxer shock should only cost $40 on eBay! 636 shocks work well also

That reminds me... my fender eliminator is in. I can finally get rid of the redneck version of off-center metal strapping mine has.
