Default New to Honda-Tech

Hey guys, Im new to Honda-Tech. Just ordered my 2006 Milano Red RSX Type-S, and they said it should arrive in a couple weeks or so. So my question to all of you guys are what should I do with it? All Motor? Or Turbo it? If you say All Motor please give me a reason why and what parts to get. and same with turbo. Some of the brands I had in mind with All motor is Toda Racing, Spoon, and Mugen. Some of the brands of turbo's I had in mind were HKS, Cybernations, Greddy, or Rev Hard. What do you guys think I should do?

Honda made a nice I4 N/A motor that revs 8400rpms. Keep it that way.

Well, after watching the Hondata training DVD. All motor isn't bad. It will run you a total of about 10 grand to complete but you can push around 300whp and gain a TON of torque by swapping the bottom end with a K24 CRV. Plus that TODA ITB is looking pretty sweet and proving to help quite a bit.

First: Stop reading "Super Street" and have a plan in mind for the car before you touch it.

And why buy a brand new car just to **** the warranty away? You could have saved a ton of $$ buying a 02-03 if you just wanted to build the motor.

Not all mods void your warranty, it depends on the dealer. I've seen 05-06 type-s run high 13's with just intake, exhaust, and race header, so you might want to start with those things. Honestly I would get used to the car first though. If you have more questions you should check out clubrsx.com. You can find the answer to any question you might possibly conjure up.

8200

depends how much money you have. if you have a lot, go ahead and boost it. if you are making payments on the car, i'd suggestto keep it NA so that if you need warranty work, it will be easy to replace the boltons to oem parts.

tapping the oil pan for boost wouldnt be the best idea to explain to them how that got there

keep it with bolt ons for a while before u deicede to boost hte car.

high 13's is great for a car with boltons. get an ECU reflash and u might be hitting 13.7's or less with great, sticky, soft sidewalled tires. 13.5's or less with r compounded drag tires.

I'm sure that lots of people have lots of ideas, but they are probably afraid to advise you before you've even driven the car.

It's probably a good idea to drive the car for a while and get to know it before you start deciding what you want to change.

you don't void warranty really. I've had full suspension on my car and they don't void it. as long as you replace the part and not just modify them. What mugen parts do you have?

under some law..i forgot what it was called..

modifications to the suspension can only void your warranty on parts related to the suspension. modification to the exhaust will only void the muffler end. if you hydrolock and you had a CAI, your warranty will be voided. if you ever need warranty work, just put back the oem intake and header or whatever else.

Well im not going to be paying monthly. I am putting all cash down. Most of the people on ClubRSX told me to get N/A because it's more reliable.

You should do whatever you want to do to it. It's your car and your $$$, but depending on what dealership you take it to anything more than an intake and a catback and you can kiss your warranty goodbye.

leave it stock till you break it in and then just go get a V2 cold air intake/dc headers/and a catback exhaust of your choice (dc/greddy/apexi) good power turbo is too expensive if you do it right and too unreliable if you do it cheap

Learn to drive it first. If you drop a turbo in first thing and hit the road, I gaurentee you will **** it up. When you do mod it, keep it simple. The more **** there is to **** up = the more **** that WILL **** up.

See, I know it's my money and I know I can do whatever I want, but the thing is, I don't know what brands are good and what brands suck. So im just asking you guys like what should I do with my car when I get it and what brands should I look into or not look into.

Mugen and Spoon are great companies but be prepared to spend some serious cash. Personally I would suggest Greddy, DC Sports, and AEM, they are easier on the pocket and still deliever. On my old GSR (R.I.P.) I just had the basics header/intake/exhaust, and it was reliable and fast. In terms of what to stay away from, do your research...figure out what it is that you want to do and figure out how much you have to spend. Do things right, not cheap!
