hey whats up guys i bought a 00 civic off a used car dealship around last ocotber and now the car hads 83,*** miles on it...how do i know if the previous owner changed the timing belt....in other words how do i know that it needs to be changed or if it has been changed already. Any signs???

 

You look for any stretch marks, cracks such like that on the belt. But with 80k if you want to be better safe then sorry change it. Same with the water pump.

Every Honda dealership is different but it should be around 55 dollars.

 

thanx....But just out of curiosty, whats the worst that can happedn if timing belt breaks....Head of the engine would be gone right??

get a timing belt kit
if its a sohc its like $150
dohc around $190
