ECHC BeaverRun Results ??
Anyone have any results for the ECHC running at BeaveRun today?
Sorry guys, we could not make it today, and will not be there tomorrow either. Trevor noticed Friday evening that a CV joint boot had torn and dumped all the grease. In the process of getting the wheel nut off, we damaged the threads on the stud, so ot was junk. Called all around for a new outboard CV joint for a rebuild, but none are available, so we can not repair in time. I'm pretty disappointed I didn't spot this earlier, and so it Trevor, we would rather be up there racing. Anyhow, have fun and race safe.

it was late Saturday afternoon before we got it all apart. I tried a few local Honda dealers and every parts store in North Pittsburgh I could think of. No one had either the Outboard CV Joint, nor did they have a complete axle assembly. The quickest anyone could get one was Tuesday. I guess the holiday weekend got us....we just plain ran out of time. Like I said earlier, this is something we are most upset about, especially at ourselves. This type of problem should have been diagnosed the day after our last race, not the day before our next one. We would have had plenty of time for repairs had we thoroughly checked the vehicle after Hyperfest. Our methods of car prep are definatley going to change.
Wishing we were racing, and not watching....

well, this is our first season...and our spare parts inventory consist of one left rear shock, 1 wheel nut, 4 spark plugs, 8 really really really used tires, and a case of Mobil 1

Yikes
You really ought to have 2 pair of spare driveshafts, distributor, main relay(s), alternator, front spindles, brake calipers and various maintenance items, IMO. I lug all this **** to the track with me now, and I have not had any problems... I figure its my way of giving a big "FU" to murphy

Sorry to hear about the problem, but I have raced three days on a greaseless axle before just so you know. But I do have a spare drivers side now.

We had our own run group and did standing starts both days. Overall all it was pretty much some clean racing.

So this is why they told me to look ahead. It really paid off.

Congrats to Chad who I believe set new H1 track record for Beaver Run

Mattamotor, thanks for the offer, sure appreciate it. We just decided to write off this weekend to rookie inexperience, and resolve ourselves to be better prepared in the future.
Rex_boy....Thanks for the results and pics, wish we were there to compete.
regards,
Gary

Nice job Zephyr, especially since he drives it to and from the track.
I think the H5 points race is starting to get interesting...

Yeah. I spun in turn 1 in Saturday qualifying, and kinda backed my left rear corner into Andrew Zimmerman's driver's door. Ripped the rear bumper's attachment bolts right through their holes, bent in the corner, and fragged the tail light. But with a few big washers and a BFH, I was able to get it straight enough to run. Once again avoided breaking the glass panel on the hatch, which is apparently just abut impossible to replace, so it's just another panel beating session.
About 5 laps from the end of the Sunday race I finally got the track figured out and was making good time. Unfortunately, everyone else did this earlier.

Great racing, everyone! Watching you guys go three wide into T1, holy crap, we were all on the edge of our seats
Todd said he got some video of that, hopefully he can get it online somewhere. I think Kofod last year said something like, "ECHC is some of the best racing in the country, and I'm proud to be a part of it." While I'm not a participant (yet), I have to agree completely, that was some really damn good racing.
And congrats to Zephyr on his wins, I believe that puts him in the winning position for the season

Good fun racing guys! My car ran much better!!! Hopefully with some hondata tuning I'll be faster at Summit! I did have a Kuhmo de-laminate on Sundays race
... have to give them a call on Tues.
Corey - the Ohio region has a racer's meeting during lunch ... a few of us H1 guys were more than 5 minutes late, so we had to start at the back of the pack.
