TODA Engine Kit
Hey, I just got an 05 Ep3 and I'm looking to geta substantial boost in power without having to do forced induction. I thought about getting the TODA engine kit because that would probably give me the biggest rise in power, but found out that it was only compatible with the RSX. So I was wondering if i switched a head from a K20a2 on to my K20a3 would i be able to install the TODA engine kit. If anyone has done this please let me know. Thanks a lot.
If your trying to do a the toda engine kit which is a whole **** load of $$$$$. You might as well just a do a k20a or k20a2 swap. Then go from there. Why bother building up a k20a3 N/A.
just get a k20a2 swap.. it'll make your car faster.. and the air flow of the k20a2 head and the k20a3 head are designed differently so you can't swap the heads, and you can get the toda engine kit and put on about 50-60 extra horses.
The type-s head swap is possible, yes, but by the time you have put on the I/H/E in order to have the hp of a stock K20A2, you've spent the amount of money necessary for the full swap (head bout = 1k, I/H/E = 800-2000 about, K-pro=1k), and still have a weaker block better suited for forced induction instead of strictly N/A. Do the swap, gain the 6 speed and euro type r status
It depends on your ultimate goal the A3 is better suited for boost. But from personal experience the A2/K24 is the best setup the ep3 has to offer. (Technology and Displacement is a thing of beauty) my opinion. The Toda Kit and head is really going to dig in your pocket.

Like prev. said the head swap is possible but also pretty $$$. Even if you were to swap heads it still wouldnt be worth it. The Toda kit was designed for a k20/k20a2. You need to keep in mind that the blocks are totally diff., the comp. ratio is also diff. The comp. ratio is also what gives the Toda kit the ability to make the power it does. Save the money on buying the Toda kit and just swap to the a2. You wont be dissapointed. Make sure you get the tranny also so you can take full potential of the swap.
you should really just do a lot more research on your motor, and your plans. if you're going to spend the money on the toda engine kit, then spend your money on a type-s motor while you're at it, or you will really be pissed off with your toda head on the A3 bottom end.
