Brake Light Problem
I have a 91 Accord EX and recently have experienced the following problem....
- The passenger side brake light had fused.
- I replaced the bulb, and all was fine until I went for a drive when the 'brake light' warning lit up in the dash cluster.
- This time all brake lights on the passenger side and the one on the back shelf had stopped working.
- I replaced the other 2 bulbs, but still no joy. After a little fidgeting, all bulbs lit up again.
- This was fine for a couple of days when the 3 went out again. After a couple of days (with no intervention), the 'brake light' warning in the dash cluster went out. All brake lights were working again. However a couple of days later, the 3 went out again, and the dash warning came on. The 3 brake lights remain non-working.
- Could the clicking of the bulb back into the back lense unit be a cause?. Could a insufficiently tightly 'clicked' bulb holder in the lense somehow 'break' the circuit? I can't think of anything else. Removing the bulb holder from the lense was quite tough. I haven't been able to put it back it with the same degree of firmness. It comes out a lot easier now.
- Any ideas or guidance upon where I should start looking will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
