94 Accord EX Intermittent 'Brake Lamp" Indicator Light
The 'Brake Lamp' indicator light in the instrument cluster on my 1994 Accord EX manual 5-speed goes on and off (is intermittent). Bear in mind this is the 'Brake Lamp' indicator light not the 'Brake' indicator light.
Normally if the 'Brake Lamp' light goes on it means one of the brake lights is out. The strange thing about this problem is that when the 'Brake Lamp' indicator is on all 3 of the brake lights work ... and then I can turn the car off and the next time I start the car the indicator light is off.
Anyone know what might be causing this?

I think it measures the resistance in the bulbs to see if one of them failed. Mine has been on for about 2 years now, despite all my bulbs working. I almost failed inspection because they say that I am not supposed to have any 'warning lights' on in my dash, so I removed the bulb from mine

Interesting. When say that you removed the bulb, I think you removed the bulb for the indicator light. Is this right?
Maybe someone else will enlighten us on the true cause of this indicator light anomaly.

Are you referring to the sensor on the brake pedal or is there another sensor for the brake lights?

I guess I should probably look into this repair too.

I am not sure but I fixed a similar(?) problem on my 2003 Acura TL. The brake fluid level sensor on my car is part of the brake fluid reservoir cap. There is a cylindrical float that goes up and down depending on brake fluid level along a vertical stem that is attached to the cap. The float on mine is removable - held in place by a c-clip. That float gets saturated with fluid affecting its buoyancy. Make sure your pads and disks are not worn, and your brake lamps are working. I went to a wrecker and got a used cap c/w the float
,put it in, and brake lamp warning light on dash stopped appearing.

I fixed mine by cleaning the sockets and tail light connectors with electrical cleaner spray and a metal brush. I didn't think it would work cause there was no corrosion but I did it anyway and it worked.
