Got home around 12 last night....came back out at 3am and the rex is gone! WTF. Called the cops, filed a report...went to look for the car myself and found it a few blocks from my house completely intact with ignition switched on but not running.
****** thieves got inside, pushed my car onto a main street and had another car behind it push it while they were trying to start it...couldn't...so they left it a few blocks from my house. I read about these horror stories all the time and now it's happened to me. I usually park close to my house but last night I parked it on the corner so it was visible from the main street and just like clockwork someone tried to jack my ****. Luckily, they didn't take anything. Must have panicked like little bitches and ran off. I figured at least 2 or 3 people since another car was involved and there are hand prints on the front of the hood. BTW, this is in Torrance, CA. So fellas keep ur cars hidden and install as many anti theft devices as possible cuz that saved me. I'm going to rig something up so they cannot slim jim the door locks. **** a thief!

damn man that sucks. At least the car is ok and nothing was actually stolen. Need to have automatic minigun turret outside your house to ward off theives
Yeah, that does suck but atleast they didnt get anything. You just gotta be more careful now because it is a possibility they may try to come back, i dont usually hear about anything like this out of Torrance and Carson but then again it doesnt matter what city you live in now in days come to find

I have a quick release but didn't remove the wheel because I was gonna come back out in a few hours if that, but I have learned my lesson!

Yes, I was very fortunate indeed. If not for some electronics the car would have been gone. When I found it in one piece I was actually surprised/shocked and overjoyed at the same time. Only damage done was to the paint on my rear bumper from the other car pushing it. No damage to the ignition or the door locks which actually worries me. I'm definately going to step up security now.

sure but it's difficult to steer a car (especially one without power steering) with vice grips. Besides, that's just one more tool a thief would need and they'd probably have to be fairly large to get enough leverage. Any little thing you can do to make it difficult helps. Alarms, quick release, kill switches, autoloc, even a car cover with lock helps.
