Hello all. I have a 97 prelude around 95k with an AT. When the car is first started, it will shift very slow and then slam into gear. Usually lasts 10 to 15 mins. If i let the car warm up it shifts normally with no problems for the rest of the day. Also looking for any tips on flushing the AT fluid. thanks.

 

I had the same problem with my 88 integra .... shortly after my transmission crapped out. So just to stay on the safe side I'd say get it checked out.

 

ur tranny's probably gonna take a **** on you, 5th gen auto trannys are easily breakable

 

yeah i had the same problem on my 92 accord. soon after it didnt wanna shift into gears at all and stayed in first gear. so i ended up getting a new transmission all together.

 

time for a 5spd conversion!

 

Whens the last time you had your tranny fluid changed/checked? That could be part of the problem.

 

The Tranny fluid was changed a month ago, to no prevail. I have been asking around and have noticed a strain of 97's with simillar problems. bummer. Anyway guys, thanks for the help and if anyone has a couple grand to throw down on a conversion, or a new tranny, pls let me know. As for now i'll drive it till it dies.... then i'll sell it... to you.
