94 Accord Hesitation 1500 to 3500 rpm
Have a 94 Accord auto that hestitates between 1500 and 3500 in all gears. When you accelerate hard enough to get it above 3500 it is fine. When it shifts and the rpm drop then car feels like it is going to stall.
Been told to get a new O2 sensor, but have had 3 replaced in the last 4 years.
Any ideas?

Let me give you some more details.
New plugs, wires, distributor, rotor, air filter.
The problem comes and goes. Sometimes during the same trip the cars runs fine. No hestation, no problems. 2 minutes later the problem comes back.
Seems to happen more in warm weather than in cold weather. The last couple of months in the colder weather 0 C (32 F) and colder the hardly ever happened the last week or so with some warmer weather it seems to happen more.

if you find that it is the distributer, let me know, as i have an extra one (yes, it still works perfectly)... i misdiagnosed a problem in the passed, and bought another OEM distributer when in fact, it wasn't the distributer... anyways, that story is besides the point...
find a Helms, and do some reading... it'll walk you through the diagnosis process to help you pinpoint the problem...

Disconnect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve and do a short test drive- If it stops- you have plugged EGR ports. Does it do this under WOT? If so, I would suspect a possible ignition problem. What brand of tune up parts did you use- Junk aftermarket parts can cause all kinds of headaches.
It does not happen when the rpms go over 3500 or so...no problems. usually only above 1500 or 2000 until 3000 or 3500. The thing that gets me is that is comes and goes so the techs have a hard time figuring it out. If it was constant then it would be easier to figure out. I have been told to replace the O2 sensor. Might this be the cause?
I would also have to suspect an EGR system to be the culprit here... Clogged EGR ports would create the exact symptoms you describe and Honda's have been notorious with this condition since the early 90's till this very day.. I would not suspect or steer towards an 02 problem..
