Default Spoon Carbon Fiber Hood... Imperfections...

I was just curious to any of you who own Spoon CF Hoods or have seen them. What are the chances that they might come with imperfections? I am not talking about little pits in the CF, but more like little scrapes or something under the CF... You guys know what I mean I hope!

Spoon C/F products are not perfect, but pretty darn close. Is it worth it? Yes, imho, as fits the best and looks the best and sturdier than most.

Until Benen releases their DC hood, Spoon is the best you can get. My advice, wait for the Benen, though. Less $$$ and just as nice if not BETTER!!!!

I don't know if Benen's stuff is any cheaper. For one, their C/F spoilers costs just as much as the Spoon ones.

Benen They look just like spoons only the design them to be of a much higher quality. I would rather spend the same price for a benen lip than a spoon lip that has imperfections.

Benen Duck Bill $400 Spoon $475ish
Benen Lip $380 Spoon $575is
Benen Hood $700 Spoon $1100ish

Nothing man made will be perfect or free from imperfections. I have compared the Spoon with the Benen and neither were prefect, but what drew me to the Benen was the fact that it was lighter (duckbill), less $$, and that it had a bit more angle to it. Honda Challenge Hatch Crap H1 #1 is now sporting one!

I have a Spoon hood..no imperfections whatsoever...no broken fibres or anything.
Fits perfect aswell. THe wing however (EK) had some broken fibre on it. But the lip I have also was top notch.

However, if Benen is cheaper, and is supposedly of better quality..I think the choice is clear then.

Yeah Benen by far is the best I've seen. I have had many talks with Ken about making a CF hood for the JDM front, but it was going to take longer than what I hoped for. Benen parts are top notch, I am in their crew and I can say that knowing them very well, and being friends with them for a long time, both Ken and Dom and great guys to hang out with.

And Just to let you guys know, if you are in the bay area, stop on over to Burlingame where their new store is.. It's called "Chapter 11", and the phone # is (650)-401-6091. Look for a Chapter 11 booth in Hot Import Nights in April @ the San Mateo Convention Center, the few Benen cars in our crew, including mine will be in the show!

So I checked out the hood today at the body shop, the Spoon hood. There are several "dimple-looking" blemishes on it, and a line as well. Is this normal for their kind of parts? I thought they were great quality AND finish... I can't decide whether to keep it or not. I don't have any pictures at this time, but I am sure you guys know what kind of marks I am talking about.
