well i spend a hell of a lot of money on my lsvtec. the only restriction was it has to be driven ever day and had to run on 91 octane. basically everything has been done to the motor to make power short of sleeving and macking it a 2.0. it now makes 197whp and 151 tq. it made 191whp on a dyno jet. i started off this build expecting a fast car. but in reality i feel the car is really god damn slow and really nothing but a big disapointment and a waist of money. i get beat by stock sohc's with a cheap 500 turbo kit and my car is only good for mid 14's at best. i'm curentely building another motor for turbo. is there any thing else i can do to my motor na wise. does the motor have anything more to offer. are you guys with full weight integras happy with na cuz i'm not.
is there no other way then to go turbo with a full weight integra. remember i like to have power everything with sunroof, ac, ps, full interior.

i wasn't happy wiht 214/158 in my last hatch...i sold the engine before i even got it all the way finished
turbo's really the only way a street honda will ever be quick enough to have fun wiht the V8 guys or really be quick in anyway...

How many times have you ran the car on the track? I think your motor is making great power for an all motor 1.8l , especially for something that runs on pump gas, drives everyday, and will probably give you less headaches than any turbo setup. That car should run mid 13s with slicks and good driving (without weight reduction) if you prefer 1/4 mile. Otherwise, take the car on a road coarse (willow springs) where you will have a blast!
The whp should net u better times than that. A guy here was running a semi-lightened integra dc-2 with 17" wheels and cutting 2.2 60 foots and running 13.9 @ 99mph.
This car had a ls/vtec stock cams, and made 174whp on a dynojet. Is your 197 whp on a dynojet?

nevermind i see that its a dynapack, but ur setup should still put down atleats the whp of the integra im speaking of and should be capable of 13's.
i'm making 206/146 in an eg...semi stripped...
the car feels great....
i'm not much of a 1/4 mile guy...but i do go just for kicks...
i havent timed my hatch with the new build..
i think ur only restriction is weight. if you want faster times...lighten up that bucket...
also..if your into road course...you dont need crazy amounts of power to be fast around the track...a well balanced car is all you need...
i'd concentrate on some real nice suspension mods ( if you dont have them yet already)
and take it out on a course...
i think you'll turn that frown upside down

don't give up yet, i sold my old motor to a friend.
setup was
gsr block w/ ctr pistons
b16 head
.054" cometic hg to lower compression
crower 63403
aebs manifold
dc 4-1 header
and chipped p28 w/ generic mugen program
this motor was untuned and he ran 13.6 in the last sac raceway event
that day was hot and shitty also....maybe you should keep on praticing
whats your 60 foot times?
good luck

I'm running low 14's to high 13's all day long with 190whp and 130ish torque on my Full weight full interior DC on street tires and I'm not the greatest drag racer.
My car is set up for road course but I like to drag once in a while.
Next year I'm going all out sleeved 2.0litre, 12:1-12:5.1 compression, Skunk pro 1's and all the other little goodies. We'll see what will happen then.

Im happy all motor. I spank v8s at the track pretty frequently and know once i get tuned,, ill be spanking even more of them.If you want to really be quick all motor, you must address the weight issue...
Put that engine into a little ef or eg and you will be running 13's on street tires, maybe even 12's on slicks easy! And how fast do you want to go? To me A 12 sec street car is no joke, especially a n/a one.
The engine looks very healthy and makes great power, you should be proud of the poer its making from only a 1.8. Personally I think you should do a 2.0+L build,
But if you want the luxuries and still be fast, turbo woould prolly be better for you.
But it gets to a point when your turbo that any more power is almost useless.(so ive heard) due to traction....

the car actually made more power and the dyna jet then the dyna pack. base line on the dyna jet was 191whp base line on the dyna pack was 184hp and after it was tuned on the dyna pack it made 197whp and 151 tq.
i'm not just talking about being fast in the 1/4. i'm not talking about how good the driver is. i feel the car itself driving on the dtreet everyday feels very slow to me. thouse of you that have na integras. so you really think the car is fast cuz i really dont. i dont really feel any pull and it doesent put a smile on my fast when i drive it hard on the street.

I love my all motor street Integra
The right combination of parts is critical to making big all motor power, but it's never enough

prolly going to get flamed but i have a cheap solution for you...
nitrous
Why??
1. cuz u get to keep your throttle response
2. give you tons of torque from instant smash of a throttle (no lag!).
3. When nitrous isnt in use its not affecting your engine so your all-motor fuel map should get better gas mileage than a turbo car (espciallly important for a daily driver), and depending on how often you use it, you are not giving the engine constant abuse.
4. system is very simple to setup and dont have to worry about the pains of a boosted engine
5. overall its WAY cheaper than building a turbo car at this point.
6. alot of turbo guys hate it. Think its cheating (only cuz you are faster, and they arent using it) lmao
i love nitrous. good sh$t. used it for years. as well as many friends use it. good example of the difference it made on a friends car was... he ran a 14.9 all-motor on a stock engine. 75 shot the car ran a 13.6 on normal street tires. He has put 40K on the car and has ran dozens and dozens of bottles through it. no problems. nuff said.

I feel your pain I just cant break into the 12;s as well due to fact that I dont want to strip the frikin thing to death
Sounds to me like you have a pretty decent setup. I'd probably focus on some weight reduction. I just got my B20vtec street tuned last night (its in a DA) and I am amazed, it pulls very hard, can't wait to get it on the dyno and on the track. I'm curious what your car weighs in at, I have done a few things to put my DA on a diet and sooner or later I'd like to get it on a scale to see how much it weighs. Here's another option: Keep the motor you have now and buy a hatch, throw it in there and then drop the turbo motor in your DA, that's what I'll be doing down the road after I can afford the build my ls motor for a turbo. For the meantime I'm leaving the ls motor stock and its going into my hatch for now. Btw, I picked up my hatch for $700, had to go out of state to get it but I am very happy with it. Well good luck with it
if you think that your car feels slow... try this...stop driving the da for a couple of days
and try to drive a regular stock car... auto would be better... drive it for a day or two...
then when you get back in you DA... you'll love it again..

i drive my gf's stock auto civic and my friends stock gsr and itr all the time.
sure my car is faster but that does not mean its fast. its still way to slow for my liking. i think the problem is all my friends are boosted and after siting in boosted cars na feels like crap.

the weight issue is definetly killing you...sohc turbos shouldn't be pulling away from a stop if you're almost hitting 200whp...
i used to have a dc2 and it weighed in at 2775: full interior, a/c, p/s, full tank of gas, and me in it...
If you shoot for 100-200 lbs lighter you will surely feel the car's power more. Stay with all motor if you can, and you'll have a huge smile on your face when you see the look on v8 owner's faces when you pull away!

pull away from a v8 lol
i dont think so
my all motor is so far away from touching any knid of v8. in fact the only way to beat a v8 is to fully build a turbo or put my motor in a striped out 1700 pound ugly uncomfertable non ac/ps crx

Owning a "heavy" DC, I totally feel where you're coming from, except I invested less money into my setup. I knew I had to boost eventually when my friend's turbo ex coupe smashed on me with a setup he only spent $1200 on. It's not as unreliable as people think, if it's properly tuned. It's not like you're boosting all the time either. With a modest amount of boost, you could have a full interior, full weight DC or DA and still keep up with most cars you encounter on the street. Shoot, some of us prefer our heavier, ultimately nicer Integras over a CRX, making boost a better option. Let's say you're aiming for only 250 whp with boost (it's "enough," and traction won't be a major issue). To do that NA, it'd cost much more money.
Don't get me wrong, I think NA is awesome. I still have a blast driving my relatively heavy, slow, GS-R. It's just that to make good power, it takes deeper pockets than some people have.

Honestly I wouldn't expect much out of an NA honda in full street trim. I just got GSR with all the bolt ons as a daily driver and it is amazing how much faster my boosted hatch is....and that is just a single cam vtec. Sure the car is lighter but I have around 50whp more too. I think what you should consider is that if it is your daily driver how fast does it really have to be?

unltimatly the only thing that matters is that i have to be happy.
and i am not happy at all with the speed and power of my car. I just bought my friends old turbo setup (t3 60-1) he made 330whp on 14pounds 91 octane 450whp on race gas. his car felt good and i think i'll be happy with 300whp. and if i get tired of that i can always just buy a gt35r later.

my 90 integra lsvtec
head is stock w/ omni retainers, v springs, and bc3+
aebs manifold w/ stock tb and stock injectors
b18a bottom with arp bolts and itr pistons
ls tranny w/ act stg3 n fly wheel
chip b16 ecu
im running 14.1 1/4 mile
im happy with it but turbo do sound much more fun, you have to set a limit on how fast you want to go and just do it. if going fast is what you want then fast is never fast enought, atlast thats want i think for me
