Got my car back together rough idle and stalls.
I got my head milled .020 and added some crower stage2 cams with non stock idle lobes. I put the cam gears at +2 bc i hear u should do 1 degree advance for every .012 you mill. I goto start the car and it cranks and had the lumpy idle sound but right when i let off the gas it stalls. So i hold it at 1500 for about 20 mins to break in my cams. Havnt got to drive it yet but its on the old tune that i was running those crappy obx stage1 cams on. It has the rough idle anything under 1500 rpms. When i hit the gas hard and rev it sounds perfect. I was thinking its stalling bc maybe my iavc is messed up or maybe the idle screw needs turned up. Would it make sense to turn up the idle screw bc these cams need more air at idle bc the bigger idle lobes. Im pretty confident my timing belt side is perfect. Havnt had a chance to set ignition timing yet bc my idle wont stay still to set it. I just put the throttle up a little for now until i get it firgured out. I also added a new heagasket is there something special you gotta do with the coolant or something that could cause this.
sounds like the same problem I just had rough idle and stalls took about 20 min to find out that my adjustable cam gears cam loose on the exhaust side
Im pretty sure my timing belt is fine. Also if the timing belt was would it still rev perfect at wot. I wanna say its almost not enough air at idle bc it seems like its amost choking or something. Would running on a almost dead battery with no altenator cause a problem like maybe make the sensors go haywire.
