CRX Carb
I have a JDM d15b engine for my CRX, and am looking for more power. I want to keep it naturally aspirated for now and eventually add a turbo. I want to start off with adjusting the carbeurator and redoing the head, valves, cams, pistons etc. What types apply to my engine, when searching I find parts for the stock engine, but not for the d15. What do I need to know.
good point schroddam....I had a carb 87 rex and dreamed of more power and boosting. the money you are going to waste on the fuel system, all electronics.... pratically converting the setup to fuel injected and boosting; or building that carbed d15 and boosting is flushing $ down the *******.... sometimes its more cost effective to swap. If you're looking for more power, your going to need a different engine (unless your madly in love with a single cam).
example of my plans: I crave more power; I recently (about 2 weeks ago) bought a 88 STD hatch with a dpfi d15b1.
my plans are going to include wither a z6 or y8 mini me, mpfi swap (stock block/4 spd trans), prob a cheap exedy stage 1 clutch..... then turbo it at 7 to 9 pounds (looking for 150 to 170 whp). Im not going to boost at every light/ street or second.
That will give me a little more power and hopefully keep me happy while I fully build a b18; after its built, then i'll get serious about seeking whp.
you should really think about what and how you want to walk down your 'performance path' in life. hey, its your ride just as the std is mine and no matter who says what, that's what im going to do to my std...
( in my case I will be wasting money on mini me, mpfi then boosting ) I could simply enjoy the stock d15 and put all money towards the b18. but, what i stated is what i want to do
