Default cleaning up the block deck

ok I am about ready to put the head on my block.....I am using a new metal gasket and I know I want to get this thing to be as smooth as possible.....is there anything I can do to the block deck or the bottom of the head that anyone recomends. I was thinkin maybe use a scotch brite or steel wool and then clean it off with brake clean......I just want to get a good seal I don't want this to leak oil and whatnot so yeah please let me know guys thanx

I used a spinning fine grit metal bristle type thing. haha damn I can't ever remember the name of it. But it takes off the gasket and makes it look nice and shiney. USE FINE. The coarse leaves scrapes

DONT use steel wool.

Get some scotcbrite finishing pads, the kind you mount on a drill work great. Also try a few coates of gasket remover or aircraft remover and something plastic to scrape it off.

Take your time and do it right.
