Default 2.25'' or 2.5'' piping...need help!

i have a question for you guys:

Im probably going to be taking my ek hatchback to the muffler shop next week to get some custom piping done and i wanted to know what would be best....

2.25'' straight cat-back piping w/o resonator, with a spoon n1 angled n' welded
or
2.5'' straight cat-back piping w/o resonator, with a spoon n1 angled n' welded.
or
have a resonator added too any of the above choices? any help would be appreciated. Im tryin not to get that ricey sound w/ the custom piping, just more of the beefy deep tone w/ better performance!

ITS FOR MY B20VTEC

Definitely go with a 2.5".

I have a Spoon N1 with 2.5" piping and i decided to change to 2.5" piping that went under the gas tank. I didnt want to destroy an original N1 so i just got a cheap *** muffler for the new pipes. Both of my setup didnt have resonators, and the straight pipe was just a tad bit noisier. Used to be a B16 now its a B20V

2.5 no question.

IMO, you shouldn't even consider the 2.25

2.5 with a resonator for sure, its sooo old hearing honda's drive by lol, you wont understand how nice it is to have a quite car until you do. my b20vtec runs with full 2.5 inch exhaust built by me, through an 18" resonator, then through the summit turbo muffler, its not a whole lot louder than stock, dont get me wrong, you can definately tell its not stock exhaust but it sounds so much better than the ricey loud *** honda's. No offense if you people have loud cars, I'm just not into it anymore

Go with 2.5" piping... That's what I did for my b20vtec, I later installed a Magnum cherry bomb resonator (Its Red) from Advanced Autoparts for only $20 and put it right after my header (no cat), well worth the money, my car is quieter has a great deeper sound to it with no rasp. Without the resonator my car sounded like a pissed off weedwacker

ya 2.5" w/ resonator, w/o resonator you will have very ricy, loud, bottle scrap sound.lol

Yup. The Spoon N1 was already loud with the 2.5", no reso, OEM bends. I figured that if i had the straight pipe on the N1 it would be ridiculously loud.

That was a very loud exhaust, didnt sound too bad, but didnt sound like it hit 5k. Put a resonator on it and it would sound clean
