Default buying a b16a from http://www.jspecjdm.net/

has anyone here ever bought a first gen b16a from this website http://www.jspecjdm.net/ they quote a price of 975 for the complete swap and that seems kinda low to me. jdmhondaparts and hondamotorsonline both have the motors for 1250. if you have any experiences with this company or website please let me know.

i personally wouldnt. but i can git b16a+cable trannys for 600 bux.
everything that place sells. so id look around locally before buying online. ive had a friend buy one online, and took it apart to build it up some. and found out the bottom end was all messed up. and they said it wasnt them. that he must have done it. even though he NEVER EVEN STARTED IT YET. but they were like. "how do we know you havent ran it?" so if u do git one. good luck to ya. hopefully u will have betta luck.

i like being able to inspect the motor myself.

bought mine thru them. Great guy. Excellent customer service. He was actually willing to bring the engine down to me, rather than ship it (probably cause I live in Vegas and it's a good vacation spot)... Nothing wrong with the engine. Got it nearly perfect and nothing missing.

I would go for it, tell him Kam sent ya...

I have bought a number of motors from him. Not any problems at all here with the service or product. No one can see inside these motors, so all that can be done by anybody is a compression test which I know he does (or at least says he does which everyone says about these companies).

I realize a $1G is alot of money for everyone, but for an engine, tranny, and ecu, that's not alot. I get the feeling alot of people expect some "golden" motor for that price. Just my $.02
