Compression Check After rebuild
I just got 1000 miles on my motor after a rebuild (New rings, spoon head gasket, and new connecting rod bearings) (97 spec ITR) I had around 130 on all 4 cylinders when i first started it up, that seems extremely low to me. When we honed the cylinders, we used 220 grit, instead of 400, we didnt realize what we did until we were done. Also when i do the check, i have the other 3 spark plus in, does taht make a differnece?
Im gonna recheck the compression 2morrow
BTW: its a B Series ITR swap. stock internals except spoon head gasket.
Also ive seen stock itrs get 200-210 on a compression check

130 hella low... im assuming you have a b series vtec motor(since you said you have something of itr spec)
i was thinking you should be around the 200's.
what type of cams do you have in the motor?

the whole motor is stock except a spoon head gasket and yes its a b series ITR swap.
i did a wet test and i got cylinder 1 to 200, so im assuming taht means my rings arnt broken in yet...

yeah, so you just honed 220 grit and then reused stock pistons? i'm wondering if at that grit level you might take off enough material to actually oversize the bores enough to change piston-to-wall clearance. pull that sucker apart and use your micrometers mister!
