Default Accord muffler (exhaust) suggestions..

I'm really having trouble deciding . . . .

Im thinking ----

" Magnaflow "
" Flowmaster"(60 series or 40 series)
" Borla "

----

Im looking for that real real deep low tone, thats nice and smooth, and just roars at WOT
----

2.25" piping on this exhaust........

What do you all think?!

I've heard the flowmasters are god awful on imports, all blatty and stuff.

Magnaflow is good, and Apex'i World Sport is a good system, and hey sell just the muffler too. Nice and quiet, but very rumbly at WOT.

i dont own one but from everything ive read ( and ive been readin for quite some time now) apexi is the way to go in terms of smoothness. not as loud as a magnaflow but its anything but raspy too.

I've got an Apex'i WS. My only complaint is the piping isn't stainless. Other than that, no problems.

I figure they'll perform the same, the Apex'i might win out more top end power because the piping is 2.37" (60mm) vs. 2.25". The muffler looks a lot less obtrusive (smaller tip) than most other exhausts, both are nice systems, the magnaflow is always cheaper and made in stainless steel, but it's also a bit louder.

I stand by my decision though, i'll see how a MN winter treats my world sport

i personally am also for the apexi. not much for loud exhausts, rather be all motor. i think seeing a apexi rot in winter would make me want to cry. good luck to you

Hrm, I thought they only sold the muffler with a cat back or axle back system. Looks like I"ll have to do some digging on that....

Or someone suggested using the ITR or RSX Type S oem muffler.......

your a ***

i have an RS*R exmag. from my experience, its even quieter than the WS (based on Ben's car, and a few hatches ive heard w/ them vs. my car and vlad's -dont know his HT name)

i love my exhaust...but because of shot motor mounts the damn thing rattles at idle (engine vibration isnt being dampered...causes whole car to shake)

just make sure if you go with apexi that you dont get the N1 instead of the WS by accident if your looking for quiet... i had dual N1's on my car and i was outragiously loud with my h22.... after i turboed the h22 the N1's sound great though... nice and mellow

Does RS*R sell mufflers only? What do they use for the piping? I was thinking of just getting the piping done at a muffler shop and acquiring the muffler. Either way, like I've said....either way.....I'll source the muffler only (if at all possible) and have some piping made.....

Resonator is the difference between raspy and deep and quiet.

Dunno if this helps dude,

I have a 1994 Accord 2.2 VTEC, totally stock standard engine.. I got a muffler only, no cat back or anything.

I got a magnaflow oval stainless steel muffler with twin up-angled tips.. sounds raunchy at idle and has a lovely note down low when using the torque band. I got my friend to drive around the block once and I felt it could be slightly louder, but Im highly impressed with it, and Ive even been on the ph to my girlfriend when she has gone "Is that YOUR car? Wow..." Cost me $350 just for the muffler which in USD is about $268. Hope this helps..

What's the stock exhaust piping diameter? Yeah yeah, I'm too lazy to jack up the car and measure it...so leave me alone..lmao

Anyone know the piping thickness of oem honda exhuasts? I might be able to calculate it....who knows eh?
