Has anyone ever had a problem with their rear brake pads wearing unevenly. My car is a 98' honda accord coupe, 4 wheel disc and the inside pads on both sides of the rear callipers have worn very unevenly. I'm just wondering if that's something to do with the parking break or could the pistons in the callipers possible need a little lube? The pistons seemed to turn back into their seats just fine, so that's where my question comes into play, why are they wearing like this? Any good ideas out there?

No, never had that problem personally, but it sounds like the clips that hold them in place were loose. Perhaps someone got lube happy and sprayed them for some unknown reason, or maybe the pads were just cheap pos material that caused them to be softer in certain places than others. If your calipers screwed back in like normal I'd just buy a good high quality replacement pad set and install em.

 

My back brakes look like that now. I have new rotors and pads to install this weekend most likely.

 

take it apart, make sure caliper piston is free and also caliper pins are free .and i would resurface or replace rotors as well, and put a set of honda pads ..

 

I would bet money on it that your caliper pins have seized up. This is especially the case if the pads wear at an extreme angle on one side. You're probably going to have to replace the pin/sleeves as well as the rubber boots ($15-20). Make sure you use HIGH TEMP GREASE not just the cheap stuff out of a grease gun. Just buy the $1 grease packets they got on the counter and you should be good. Fully assembled you should be able to grab the caliper and it should slide freely back and forth.
