Default Turbocharged B18C Crx project success!

I had this car up and running in the middle of july of this year, and since my pictures were uploaded on the norcal crx site i thought I might as well post a thread here.

my setup:
stock GSR engine & transmission (stock clutch too, lets see how long that one lasts! )
gt28rs turbo at ~7psi
neukin manifold/dp, custom made to fit in the car
jrc backdoor ic
charge piping custom welded by me
cheap dsm bov that squeaks when it opens ( way cool)
tuned by me on uberdata

after one hour on the dyno I made 242 whp (7000 rpm) and 183 ft-lbs of torque (5000 rpm), I think it can go higher but I don't want to push it

and some pics:

Later on I added a moroso catchcan and opened up more ports on the back of the block for better PCV flow.

overall, it was totally worth it, super fun to drive

Nice. How'd you get your underhood to look like that? Is it just a painted c/f one?

Thanks!
This is a 1990 crx si.

I don't have any clutch or tire issues yet, hoping it will stay that way.

thats a carbon fiber hood with reflective material on top. I added more reflective material now so the hood looks really shiny, lol.

Had to trim even the SiR style hood to make that mani fit. that was no fun.

Yeah before I get slicks I need to learn how to launch... and I'm not sure 16 year olds are allowed on the track, hahaha

Around here as long as you can legally drive you can drag but enless your 18 you need you parents to sign something. Nice ride by the way. You should bring it down here to Quaker City (Salem, OH) and you would destroy is the street legal class that is if you want to drive that far. Anyways nice rex man keep it up!

What radiator is that? Looks clean. How close is the radiator to the downpipe and wastegate, have any pics of that?
I feel your pain on CRX engine bay restrictions, I'm out of room.

Damn that does look pretty cramped, Ive never liked the small amout of space to work with in crx's. My 93 hatch has way more room than my bros rex.

Thanks guys.

Jared,
I don't have any pics right now, I can go take some if I remember. That radiator is the full-race crx half radiator. I have about 1 cm of clearance between the downpipe and the rad, and about 1 inch clearance between the manifold and the rad (this is with the heat wrap on the mani and on the dp). I had to slide the rad over to the passenger's side and make my own brackets to hold it in place to clear the dp.

your setup is going to be hellish with that wastegate sticking in that strange place. My secret was just to use the internal gate

It is a really tight fit but I guess thats the price you pay for high performance in small cars.

Congratulations on a nice setup achieved!

Btw, I think I have your D16A6 in my crx
Decent motor, pulls pretty well but is noisy. Guess maybe it just needs a valve adjustment?

Anyways... your motor in my car means I can finally SMOG my &#@$ CRX.
Woohoo

Congrats again....very nice work

ahahah and yeah ryan owes me $200!
ted, yeah, i think that engine is smoggable.. put on a good cat just to be sure

how do I get the bumper off? I dont. Not necessary unless I crash, which hopefully I wont. It's not the most functional thing ever, and in retrospect, I probably wouldn't have done it, but I still think molded bumpers look better with this kit.

this is a SiR style hood. I'll post some pics soon. maybe I'll use my root login to the norcal crx site and make my own little corner
