Default stock rod bolts and nut issue ?? help needed

i find that i can thread the nuts on easily with no resistance ....to my understanding should these not be luck nuts ??? which should lock ??? well they dont seem to lock so im a bit worried about torqueing them down....or was i supposed to replace these during my build up ??? i started out with a motor that had less then 50,000km should these be shot already ?? or are they 1 time use only ??

One would think that, but it just isn't the case. If you are that worried, pull your rods out and have ARP rod bolts ($30) installed and the rod resized at a machine shop. The nuts are bigger with the ARP's, but still are not locking nuts.

Its because they have been torqued that they don't fall off.Properly torqued bolts stretch slightly and hold a load against the nut.Locknuts just ruin the treads.

Do not ever use locktite, torque the bolts to factory spec and be done with it.

so for the last time just to be sure.......the nuts are not supposed to be locking nuts and the torque will hold these in place and not come lose........
