Choosing the right Tranny Fluid
I’m running a 2000 Type-R with LSD. I was told Red Line products work well however the man at the parts store didn’t know how much or what type to use. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

gm syncromesh FM is the bomb.
honda mtf is okay but shears down fast. you need to change it often and it doesn't protect as well as syncromesh friction modified.

Works for me until the rebuild.

I have used Redline MTF and seems a bit thin. Did a couple of track days and came to this conclusion. Then changed to Redline lightweight shockproof gear oil, and it's better. Kinda hard to shift when really cold, but better on the track when the tranny warms up. Between the 2, the lightweight shockproof gear oil seems better suited for the track. Can't comment on if I'm damaging my tranny or not cause I just don't know.
For pure street driving, can't beat the smoothness of Honda MTF. Since it's not synthetic, it's probably best to change it often.
FWIW...
