Default What Brand/Type of Camber Kit Do You Run?

A while back I bought a the Omni front camber kit but have yet to install it. Recently I have had a change of heart and would rather run something that might have a better record. I have heard stories and seen pics that I don't like. After searching I found a thread on the SPC kit that was posted back in January but that is about it.

I would like to see what you guys run for camber kits, I think I am more interested in something like the Omni or SPC where it replaces the entire A-arm. But I don't trust the quality of Omni right now and I would like to hear some more reviews and options at this time. If possible could you post what kind of product you use, a pic if you have one, and possibly where you purchased it I would appreciate that.

Skunk 2 up front and SPC in the read.

The only problem I have had so far was the Skunks up front hitting. This was easily solved by raising the car up a bit. Also, I have heard of peope putting hex bolts in instead of the allen key bolts. And lastly hammering the inside sem of the shock tower to get a bit more clearance.

Ingalls up front. You may find that you need to flip them around to add negative camber.

Because SCCA has a rule for Improved Touring relating to Camber kits on CRXs we are using the SPC front UCA adjustable bushing kits. They work well if you want to decrease Camber. In the rear I use washers and bolts. I have used Ingalls and SPC rear upper links on a Civic with great results. If you are allowed to use adjustable balljoints of some sort in the front remember that this can have the potential of causing you to have to deal with the clearances of the inner fender and tower. This is the case when use the bushings since the arm is moved versus the balljoint. If you happen to have close to ideal track Camber on the car and have installed adjustable spring perches (sleeves) this is also a way to correct Camber.
Overall, every car I have done this to has used an SPC kit on the front

I'm using the Skunk2 up front and the SPC in rear... haven't had any problems and both allow for a wide range of camber adjustment (positive and negative).

So they can be flipped, as in, someone's done it and its ok, or is this just theory?

FYI the problem that happened with that front camber kit only deals with the EK, if you don't have 96-00 honda civic then you should be ok.

I run the older style skunk2, i bought them used, they had 1.5 seasons of racing, and i think 2 25 hour enduro's on them. they (other then being dirty) are in perfect shape, not one problem in there history.

Is it just the 96-00 civic UCAs that were poorly constructed then? I would think they would use the same construction and materials when making the 92-95 that they did when they made the 96-00. My concerns are with the integrity and strength of the materials that the Omnis are made of.

The idea came from Ingalls' lead engineer. I'm actually not sure if my kit is installed normally or flipped, but one way or another, I went from -1.5 to -2.5 camber up front... I let Ingalls borrow my car for some R&D work, so they gave me the kit and installed it for free. Their engineer said that they could possibly flip the kit around if it didn't give me enough negative camber, but I'm not sure what they ended up doing.

did you read the thread were the EK ones failed? It has to do with the fact that the EK uses a "pressed in" bushing and obviously they didn't do it right.

I had a skunk II camber kit fail on me.. I was running way to soft of a spring and bottoming out. that caused the upper ball joint to press itself out. The newer design this cannot happen. So IMO as long as you dont bottom out they are the way to go..

The bushing concerned me a little but the area where the ball joint attaches to the A-arm was seriously deformed as well and that worries me maybe a little more than anything. Looking at mine that area is extremely thin. Still looking into the SPCs right now.

If it makes ya feel any better, I've had a set of the Omnis on my DC for about a year and a half, and I've had zero problems. No slipping, bending, or cracking. This is with daily driving, autocross, and HPDE. I don't pound curbs on a regular basis, but I have had a couple bottoms that were hard enough to leave marks on the inside top of the shock tower from the bolts on the arms hitting. I also hit one curb hard enough to bend the rim, but the arms have held up fine.

Since you already have them, why not just give them a try?

i think that was an after math of the bushing failing. bushing failed, top part of that arm was smashed and bashed up into the fender well.
