Default Idling question after cleaning TB?

I was cleaning out my TB and spayed some TB cleaner with the engine off. i sprayed and wiped dry, but i think i got some in the TPS. As soon as i started it, it started to idle high and fluctuate from 1200-1500rpm. It idled perfect before 750-800rpm. Is my TPS screwed? My TPS is riveted on instead of the screw on type like i've seen. Is my TPS out of tolerance? Any suggestions to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.

i have used cleaners in my TB, but have not had this experience...tho i did ruin my 02 sensor...oooooopssss. i don't see how this damaged the TPS, unless somehow some trash got blown into it while cleaning.

edit: could the IACV have received some of the dirt? has the CEL come on?

Take off your IACV (on the back of the intake manifold) and clean that out in the same fashion. If this doesn't work take a dremel to the rivets in your tps, it'll allow you to screw them out with a flathead, then you can calibrate if necessary.

the iacv is a little cylindrical piece on the back of ur IM...it has two coolant lines running through it and a sensor on the right side...i believe its held on by two 12 mm bolts...maybe 10mm i dont remember

How long did you let it idle, it might be idling high from burning the carb cleaner.

Well, i cleaned the IACV. it was a bit dirty with carbon. wiped it dry, then slapped it back on. On intial startup, the car studdard a bit and then cleared up. The idle was good. I then ran the car normally and it was perfect. then the next morning on the way to work, i noticed at the traffic signal, it started acting up again. it would do the 1200-1500rpm deal, then idle back at 800? I think my TPS is out of tolerance, but i dont see how that thing would move, since its riveted on.

If anyone has another resolution, pls post. thanks guys for your info

Another big source of idle problem is the FITV found underneath the throttle body. I eliminated mine, and cleaned the IACV at the same time and this got rid of my idle problems. There is a thread on fixing the FITV, lemme see if I can find it.

*edit* Here you go, dunno if it will work or not, but it can't hurt.
