Today I've helped a friend changing spark plugs, wires and distribuitor cap and stuff. He used to have thick wires, and platinum 4 spark plugs. Today, we've installed 8mm wires and some NGK (..or something like that..) spark plugs, which he said he was told, will perform best for that engine (..not a honda, by the way..)
So my question is, what are the best wires? What are the best spark plugs, and best distribuitor coil?
I was looking at tasauto.com, and I saw a kit that came all that stuff together.
But I was wondering if maybe having some thick *** 11mm or even 13mm wires would be the best to allow the engine to perform all of its capacity.
Thanks a lot for any replies!!!

i haven't done a tune up on my car yet but the denso's iridum spark plugs are good from what people say and the msd caps are good also. Now the wires nology has sone out for our cars but they are expensive i think they are a $160 per set might even be more. Me on the other hand i'm getting densos, and the msd cap but the wires??? ehhh still lookin. By the way i just got this car so only thing i have got done to the car is the exhaust.
Ignition parts are one of those upgrades that alot of people make, because they are easy to do yourself. Unfortunately, unless your stock wires were bad, or your plugs were totally worn out, you will probably not feel much difference. Think of it like this... Would it make sense to run thick monster cable to your stock deck and stock speakers? No... you'd just waste your money. But when you upgrade the deck and add some big subs or something, then you need more power. Same with your engine. When you are running a basically stock engine, the stock ignition system is more than adequate. When you up grade to more air, more fuel, forced induction, or whatever... then your ignition requirements need to increase also. I would personally use OEM plugs... usually they are NGK's... and keep the factory cap, wires, and rotor - unless they are actually bad.
*****READ THIS**** Because you have a '97 model year, you have an emission's warranty extension. You have warranty coverage on emission's parts til 12yrs or 150,000 miles. Includes in this extension is an "OBD KIT".... this can be done once only between 75k and 150k.... and the dealer will, free of charge, replace cap, rotor, plugs, wires and do an oil change. Check with your local dealer to find out if your car is eligable for this service or if it has already been done..... and if you have over 150k... forget it, no warranty left.
