First off i have a 90 honda civic sedan and Im gettin a y8 block for free and i have a 1.5 dx in my car right now. so i was wondering if i can put that block in with my car and keep dx head, distributor and ecu and put that stuff on the y8 block. will it add hp or tq ...im just tryin to figure out if its even worth the hassle putting it in....thanks

 

Sounds like a dumb idea, it'll work, but it's a retarded idea.... did you get the Y8 transmission too? If you got the transmission, throw that in, it'll make a HUGE difference.

Are you trying to swap the head or the bottom end? The head/intake manifold will work, but you have to convert to four injectors.

 

yea but if i use the y8 head with my dx dizzy and DP i will lose power and im not going to wire vtec right now im going to wait but will that work

i put a y8 head on my d16a si block... hooked the vtec up and my CRX ran great.. i can still hear the vtec coil spinning .... *sighs* to bad someone hit me and totaled that car out i still have the motor sitting around.. anyway never seen anyone do a d16 head on a y8 block... u might try z6 block with a y8 head or a z6 block d16 head

 

that sucks man...sounds kinda like my brother had a eg coupe and 2 days after he dopped the gsr in at about 2 am somone got into his lane and he swerved and hit 2 parked semis but anyway back on track what ecu did you use?
