Default Convertible Top question

How well does the convertible top hold up if the car is kept outside? Or will this not work out at all.

On the 01 I could see wear around the seams, and where it folds when its down. No holes yet. The top fades to a gray if it sees too much sun. If you don't live near the beach you should be ok.

Treat the top with something like 303 protectant to avoid it going grey from too much sun.

I assume a hardtop is the best investment to avoid softtop wear.

Mine has always been garaged, but if you are concerned, look into getting a car cover.

It really depends if you have a soft top with plastic or glass. Plastic tops like mine wear down pretty fast. Around the edges, its turning brown and spots are comming up fast. This is after 2 years. Still okay now, but i dont know how long it last.

I've heard 3M Paint Protector film works on the plastic rear with some success. The plastic must be clean and spotless before application though.
