Default Im a newbie!!!!

Hey guys! im a newbie to the boards, just bought myself a 92 cx civic hatchback! with a 5spd and a massive 1.5l under the hood, i have thermal exhaust, a header, a cold air intake. thats it for now, and i LOVE the car! best buy ive ever made!! but anyways, i came to ask a question and hopefully someone will have an answer... i just bought the car monday night, and the lady i bought it from forgot some stuff at her house, and when i went to pick the other stuff up, her husband threw in a set of coil overs off of a CRX, but my question is, will the coil overs off of the crx work on my civic? because i dont want to rip the old coil off, and then the new coil overs not work. so please, if you have an answer IM me on AIM at bmxracrn9, post here, or e-mail me at nblracrn16@yahoo.com

wow...a polite AND proper noob...Welcome What brand coilovers? You might want to consider a combo struts/spring set-up insted of slapping on the coilovers...btw are they new or used?

Well...this website does have its ups and downs, and being a noob to Honda's, i suggest using the SEARCH button often and READ! You'll find out how much more info's floating around the boards.

Being that the Drop Zones are new is a plus, but like i said, if you were to put them on, i wouldn't suggest reusing the factory struts. But suspension is the first thing you should work with as we all know that every car needs better suspension

Is it just me or did he say coilovers... so why are you saying dont use the stock struts... when coilovers come with struts and springs. if i'm wrong here let me know... i'll blame it on my business law class.

Im on drop zones with Kyb agx's i wouldnt suggest ripping apart your set up now with out gas shocks, go through all the work of putting on the coil overs just to blow your stock shocks and have poor ride qaulity, just save your money put the coilovers in your pile of parts and invest in some good shocks kyb, koni, tokico, Dropzone shocks w/e youll be much happier!

For those drop zones, all I can say is...You get what u pay for...I bought skunk2 coilovers on ebay and love them. Most recommended are ground controls with Koni yellows. To each their own.

They'll fit but I honestly wouldn't put them in. Especially with stock shocks. Your ride quality will go to hell. I was about to post and tell you that they'll fit but then I saw that you said they were drop zones. You might want to think about selling them to a local ricer and save up another $100 or so to get some ground controls.

Don't bother with a body kit. I'm trying to find stock front and rear bumpers to take mine off, and don't worry about a lip either.

17s would look too big for your small hatch....16 or 15" w/ beefier tires would look nice. Rolling on 17" wheels on a civic loses your piece of mind"potholes"...don't get chrome b/c they will peel off....do it right the first time
