Default removing amber lense from 98 accord headlight

sup guys, im new to this forum. i recently got me a 98 4 door accord for my daily driving purposes. i also have a gmc sonoma, and on my sonoma i was able to take apart the headlight and remove the amber lense, to make the headlight clear. what i'm wondering is, can i do this on my accord, or will i have to buy some new headlights? i already know the basics to doing this, i just need to know if it's possible. thanks in advance

very possible, easy process really, pry them open, take the strip out (easier if you dont mind them breaking). Put the headlights back together, and i suggest you seal them with something to prevent fogging

by ny state law you need two amber reflectors in the front of your car. when i did have clears i the cops never gave me a problems about it.

imo i'd just by some altezza lights and keep the oems. a couple years down the line you might want your stocks back. for me clear lights was just a phase. all my clears went in the garbage.

btw just get some chalking to seal the hole up when you take the reflector out

If you put the lights in the oven (without the lens on the surface) at about 400 degrees for 5-8 minutes, you can pry it open with a screwdriver. I believe the amber strip comes out, and then reattach the new lights with silicone adhesive to prevent leakage. And while it's out, replace the driving lights (where the strip was) with amber bulbs, you can use LEDS (I love them). Go to sylvania.com, automotive lighting, and do the what fits my car. Then you can always see what lights to get when you replace them

You can do it like this to have them still legal.

Mine are exactly the same but no retrofit. The orange piece is two parts and are held in by screws. Just do the oven method and everything will come out fine.

on a really hot day that silicone seal your going to use to seal your headlights is going to be pain to clean up once it melts all over your headlight, core support and hood.

If you use enough to seal it instead of jizzing it all over the headlight it should be fine...

The silicone won't be a problem

As far as the amber on the 6th gen. You can "un-clip" them. I provided you a picture of my retrofit, where the amber part was painted.

Thanks guys.

I've added two more pictures.
Just as a sidenote: The retrofit has three projectors in each housing, and the low beam is produced via the so ever popular S2000 projector.

Both highbeam and lowbeam. Corner bulb converted to 1156.

i didn't use extra sealent at all, just use clamps after your done and its tighter then stock, my friend has gone through a car wash and nothing has happened to his HID's or headlamps. but you have to put your lamps in the oven at 225 for 5 mins to warm it up, take it out clamp it for 5 mins, and stick it in for 10 mins, and clamp one last time. till the headlamp is cool to the touch. and you have headlamps that are tighter then OEM and no extra sealent.
