Default NY/NJ/CONN ITR Expo participants...and those who want to connect on a caravan

I am sending in my money for the expo this Friday. I also reserved a room from Sat to Tues Night.

Who else has reserved a room? (This only takes a credit card, and they do not charge you until you check in.)

We probably can fit about 4 people in a room comfortable (just bring air freshener, shower cleaner and ear plugs !) With four people, it is like $20/night.

I am not an official caravan organizer, but once I send my money, I'll ask to be the caravan organizer.

Also, can someone get a deal on CB Radios. The motorola radios may not have enough range (I could be wrong with that...I'll search on the Internet tonight).

From my experience those motorola talkabouts have a usable range of about
100'.

The Nebraksa, KC crew were also thinking about getting the two way radios. Does anyone have experience with these on the highway will they work in a caravan of seven+ cars going down the highway or will the middle guys have to relay the messages from the front to the back?

I could catch up with you guys in North East Ohio.
Just depends which road you're most likely to use.

Route 80 terminates in the NYC area, so we will be taking Route 80 straight out to Michigan. So far, plans are to leave on Saturday. Once we get closer to the date, I will post final plans.

Those two way " Family band " radio can handle almost a 2 miles range, you don't need to relay the messages unless you and your friends are too far away (ie: not on the same highway) I will be a great tool for those to drive together to the expo, but if you want to use it to find another group ( say from different location ) I suggest ppl exchange their cellphone number to do that.
