Default Shifter kicking out of gear! Problem?

I'm having a problem with my 5th gear not wanting to stay "in". It keeps kicking it out of gear into neutral. The problem just started. I have a similar problem with 2nd gear, but that has been for some time, and hasn't really been a problem cause it only came out of gear on occasion when I let off the gas.

Since this is 5th gear, it is a real pain. Can somebody tell me what the problem might be? I think I might have a leak on the passenger driver shaft seal that needs to be fixed. Do you think I might just be low on tranny fluid? I haven't had time to check the level in the tranny...........

Any other thoughts? I think I have the M2B4 tranny with the LSD.......I'll have to check to make sure.

ive had a similiar problem with second poping out. But it doesnt pop into neutral, it pops out but its still somewhat in the slot. Hopefully someone has an answer to help you out.

And i had changed the tranny fluid, so that was out. High milegage and lots of highway and driving in 5th Ive heard of it poping out. Check your shift linkage and bushings since your hydro right, easier then cable which I have.

I was having this happen to me after I changed my clutch, so I just filled up my tranny some more, and it stopped.

sounds to me like a broken syncro spring ...it gives a little bit of a "fit" feling when putting it in gear ...i had 5th gear spring go out and with the shift detent *****(there ball bearings with a spring that rides on groves in the shift forks to get that notchy feeling of goign into gear) out of the tranny you couldnt tell it was ever going in and out of gear . and also the sleeve wouldnt stany in 5th ,gravity pulled it out (this was all on my work bench mind you

that happened to me when i forgot to put a spacer back in on my mainshaft, damn!

maybe your gears are worn so bad that they are floating up and down on the shaft.

possible but those gears are so hard there would be very little wear ever on them unless something was floating around in there

So I guess the only real way to tell if it is the spring would be to pull the entire tranny out and have it inspected? I know that I have a bad seal on the driver side drive shaft that I have to get fixed but I may end up pulling the tranny all the way out to find out whether I need to send it off to get fixed.

Has anyone had any work done on there tranny by Gearspeed? I sent an email to them and it would cost me about $1500 to have them remanufacture my tranny. They told me they reman for Honda America. Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with them.
