Default oem budget lsvtec build questions

im building a new motor for my hatch and im doing a budget ls vtec. i was wondering what oem-jdm interrnals are the best for this job. i have a decent amount of money and im not in a hurry to get it done because i want it for next season. im looking to at least get into low 13s. i have a 93 hatch currently with a ls motor.

ITR pistons and rings work really well. You'll need to modify the LS rod or ITR piston to fit though.

I usually have the rods small end narrowed 0.065. DonF likes to widen the space between the piston pin bosses of the piston.

The b16 pistons won't need modification to fit LS rods. The usdm b16's (pr3's)yeild around 10.8 : 1 in an LS block with LS head, but will raise .3 - .4 using a vtec head. The CTR's are very high compression, like 12.3 : 1 in a LS block with LS head, and will raise with the vtec head like above. I believe these numbers are correct and with no deck or head milling, which will raise it even more as will a thinner headgasket. Hope someone can confirm these numbers for you.

yes you do have to mode ctrs but usdm b16's a press on affair. as far as c/r on a ls/vtec with ctr's you should be around 12.5 with no milling minor milling will put you around 12.8 hope you got 93 octane and some good tunning I am running this exact setup right now love it just to broke to have the turn properly tuned so it's not as fast as it could be but belive me it still hauls.
