It's not the matter of VSS. It's the ECU restriction.

if you remove the VSS, you won't know how fast you are going, you mean speed limiter. Get a USDM ecu or chip the jdm ecu and remove it in the program. BTW, what kind of setup do you have to hit 120 in the 1/4?

sounds to me like it would work, your ecu wont know how fast your going if the sensor was removed or just unplugged.

oh and I'm pretty sure that the sending wire off the vss splits up, one going to the ecu and one going to the speedo. maybe try just cutting the vss wire going into the ecu plug?

...and if I 'm right, Vtec won't kick in either because ECU think the car is sitting still at 0 mph. Correct me if I 'm wrong!

but isnt vtec driven off of RPMS, not the speed you are going? So if you disrupted the speed that he ECU thought it was going, then you could get by the fuel cut-off point? That is an interesting thought!

vtec is based on rpm, speed, engine temp, oil pressure, and the lack of certain cels. if you disrupt the vss signal you can get past fuel cut, but only if you can pull that hard WITHOUT vtec.

If the ECU thinks the car is stopped, its going to be the same effect as sitting still reving the car. You dont hit vtec when reving, sorry.

yep, no vtec if your going 0mph, waht you need to do is simulate to the ecu that your moving over 20mph, then vtec will work correctly.

I doubt you'll go over 120 on the quarter, even with nawws.

My guess is that he's upset that he can't break 120 out on the highway.

yeah I forgot about the mph in the ecu for vtec. Sounds like a good excuse to get a new or chipped ecu!
